Interview (2015 12 05)

Is Your band a one man band?

Actually I work mostly alone. But I had a split with Hyperborea. This collaboration was interesting of course, I'm always glad to release splits with other artists.

What are the main ideas are behind Your music?

I listen to very different sorts of music, and I have different sources of inspirations. When it comes to black metal I like Stworz the most - all of the releases, but especially Synowie Słońca.

When it comes to ambient - I love all the releases by Cryo Chamber. I love neofolk ballads as well, like for example Ludola, and I have all of the Ludola albums. I love Polish military marches, traditional soldier songs, folklore. But what is the most important - I like film music, computer game sountracks as well, and it is what influences me the most. Aaaaa I would have forgotten - L'effet C'Est Moi - Le Dernier Souprir is one of the most beautiful tracks I've ever heard.

Art and life. What is more important?

Well, music is a very important part of my life, but there are other things. Art is just a part of life. The most important
though is the family, the nation, my beloved country -Poland, and of course freedom - of Poland, of Europe, of the whole humanity.

I don't mean the freedom to offend anybody people would love to offend. I mean freedom to say, whay you believe in, the freedom to live like you want to live. The freedom to have your own country.

To have place on earth. There are no more important things, like independence. Not the freedom to rot in decadence, but to
live, to speak your own language, to walk your own streets, with your children, safely.

What is and what is not Art?

The word Art has very different meanings actually. But what is truely art ? I believe that Art is not just for Art, just for itself. Art is about beauty. It is a tool to speak to people and to cause emotions, to spread ideas. And what is not art ?

Definitely modern decadent crap on MTV is not art. Whole popular music is not art at all, it is just sort of craft, but
definitely not art. Most modern popular "artists" have nothing valuable to say, and nothing of value to show. Art is not
about showing naked women, and primitive men, smoking weed and drinking beer, to catchy melodies. What I call real art, are
things like Ludola, like the film "300", like Stworz, like Lord Wind, and like Chopin for example. It is all about great things, not about rotting on the couch with beer and "having fun" or "smoking weed". True art is about living and dying for
great things, about fatherland, about sacrifice, about love and hate, about what is the highest in humanity.

What do You think about relations between the old art and computer art? Are they compatible?

Of course they can be compatible. Computers, and internet give artists new possibilities. It was never so simple to create all you want to create. And it was never so easy to spread your art through the whole world. The tools changed, and the only difference is that now it is much easier.

What do You think about thousands of neofolk/industrial/ambient/tribal/electroacoustic/avangarde etc. bands/projects? Is it a kind of trend, o just a tendency forwards better music?

I'm really glad there are bands like Ludola, like L'effet c'est moi, and many many more. It is a revival of old Europe. We are all fed up with the decadence. We young people don't want any more of lies, of dishonor propaganda, we are served through the TV. Europe awakes, the only thing is that it awakes now, after so many shocks and wounds. But finally ! Not only in art everything is reborn. I see it every year on 11th November here in Poland. I see it in Hungary. And I believe it will be a great awakening of the whole Europe.

What do You know about Lithuania? What Lithuanian and foreign musicians do You value most?

Our countries used to be united in the past. Together, with a Lithuanian prince of Poland and Lithuania - Jagiello we did
kick the Germanic cross knights. We are of one Eastern blood - Balto-Slavonic blood. I really love traditional Lithuanian ethnic
music, and some pagan folk. I listen to most of it from youtube - It's the only place I can find pearls like Girjaukis, or just the people singing traditional Lithuanian folk.

What inspires You most?

Mostly romantic poetry, history, ancient times. Life of great heroes.

What are You working on right now?

I've just finished Fatherland and Honor i Ojczyzna albums of Forgotten Deity. Now I'm working on my new project Bezkres Niebios, having a week or two weeks of break from Forgotten Deity. It's a good thing to do, try something else, just to keep "fresh" and full of ideas.

What do You think about Polish music scene?

I think in Poland it is getting better and better. The bands stopped spreading useless ideas, and started to think about what is the most important in life, and what we can loose if we won't protect Europe.
