Review. KARKASAS (2017). Killing insects of mind

62 minutes of postindustrial music of Lithuanian project KARKASAS (shell, carcass, frame, skeleton, framework) is one of the most interesting products of new Lithuanian experimental scene which emerged about ten years ago. Some bands are already dead, some only emerge, and KARKASAS is somewhere between them: it's not a newbie's work, but the name is rather new, it emerged only in 2016. Anyway, the album Société de Ruche is really a fine peace of postindustrial art balancing among DEUTSCH NEPAL, ZOVIET FRANCE and IN SLAUGHTER NATIVES. Strongly recommended.

Review. KARKASAS (2017). Killing insects of mind

The album was written and recorded over the course of three years, 2015-2017.

Recorded in one take with no overdubs, baring the flaws and imperfections of manually performed material, by leaving it's lo-fi nature and wild signal flow.

Sounds of self-built reaktor instruments then recorded to tape or single track in DAW. Then some tracks ware remade using cut-up routines.

KARKASAS says he likes killing insects. Probably he meant mind insects, stupid thoughts that appear everyday in our heads.

Artwork: Ieva Deltuvaitė. Design: Tomas Valentinaitis. Mastering: Daina Dieva.

Who is Karkasas? Let it remain a mystery, he does not like interviews, but his music is really worth to listen to. You can listen to it and/or buy the digital (or MC; there are/were 35 copies of them) album here:
